Adjusting the Cutting Depth
(see figure
)
B
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the
mains plug.
To achieve an optimum cut, the saw blade
must not protrude the material by more
than 3 mm (maximum).
To adjust a smaller cutting depth, turn the
clamping lever 23 in anticlockwise direction and
raise the saw in regard to the base plate 13.
To adjust a greater cutting depth, turn the
clamping lever 23 in anticlockwise direction and
lower the saw in regard to the base plate 13.
If it is not possible to completely adjust the cutting
depth of the saw after releasing the clamping le-
ver 23, then pull the clamping lever 23 away from
the saw and swivel it in clockwise direction. Re-
lease the clamping lever 23 again and once more
turn it in anticlockwise direction. Repeat this pro-
cedure until the desired cutting depth is achieved.
Adjust the required cutting depth using the cutting
depth scale 24.
Turn the clamping lever 23 in clockwise direction
to lock the set cutting depth.
If this does not lock the set cutting depth suffi-
ciently, then pull the clamping lever 23 away from
the saw and swivel it in anticlockwise direction.
Release the clamping lever 23 again and once
more turn it in clockwise direction. Repeat this
procedure until the desired cutting depth is
locked.
Adjusting the Cutting Angle
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the
mains plug.
Loosen the winged screw 25 and the lever for
cutting angle preselection 8.
It is best to place the machine on the face side of
the blade guard.
Tilt the base plate away from the machine until
the required cutting angle is adjusted on the cut-
ting angle scale 6.
Tighten the winged screw 25 and the lever for
cutting angle preselection 8 again.
Note: For mitre cutting, the cutting depth is
smaller than the value shown on the cutting depth
scale 24.

Cutting Marks
45°
The cutting mark 0° ( 10) indicates the position of
the saw blade for right-angled cuts.
The cutting mark 45° ( 9) indicates the position of
the saw blade for 45° cuts.
Both cutting marks include the width of the saw
blade. Always guide the saw blade off of the
drawn-up cutting line so that the required meas-
ure is not reduced by the width of the saw blade.
For this, choose the corresponding notch side of
the cutting mark 0° ( 10) or 45° ( 9) as shown in
the illustration.
Note: It is best to carry out a trial cut.
Starting Operation
Observe correct mains voltage: The voltage of
the power source must agree with the voltage
specified on the nameplate of the machine.
Equipment marked with 230 V can also be con-
nected to 220 V.
Switching On and Off
For starting operation of the machine, actuate
the lock-off button 2 first, and then press and hold
the On/Off switch 1 afterwards.
To switch off the machine, release the On/Off
switch 1.
For safety reasons the On /Off switch of
the machine cannot be locked; it must
remain pressed during the entire opera-
tion.
Speed Preselection (GKS 65 CE)
Stepless speed preselection is set with the thum-
bwheel 3. The required speed depends on the
saw blade being used and the material to be
worked (see Overview of Saw Blades at the be-
ginning of these operating instructions).
