OPERATION:
LED
1
The CONTROL LED 1 lights up green when the device is working trouble-free. If the LED lights red, there is a
fault. Faults can be caused by:
Rechargeable battery voltage weak, remedy: Recharge the battery
Fence voltage too low: Select MODE NORMAL
ARGUTECTOR value too low, remedy: Free fence from leakage currents (plants, short-circuits, etc.)
In case of interferences in the pulse sequence: Switch off the device for about 30 seconds, contact service
(see below) if necessary (The device has a pulse interval of approx. 1.5 (normal) or 2 (slow) seconds. The
device must be repaired immediately if the interval is less than 1 second.)
Activate the display indicators for troubleshooting:
1
The display indicators can be activated with the push-button (1). One of the 6 modes can also be set with the
push-button (1). The currently set mode is displayed by pressing the button briefly. All modes can then be selec-
ted one by one by continuing to press the button. The mode selected last remains set after exiting the menu. The
device shows the rechargeable battery, fence voltage and Argutector values again after 5 seconds.
The rechargeable battery indicator (LED 2) provides information about the rechargeable battery or battery
LED

voltage. If the charging voltage of the solar panel/main adapter is greater than the voltage of the rechargeable
battery/battery, the solar indicator lights steadily in green: The solar panel charges the 12 V rechargeable battery
but not the 9V battery.
Cycle sequence monitoring
The device is fitted with cycle sequence monitoring to prevent inadmissible energy being transferred to the fen-
ce. If the cycle sequence rate falls below 1 second, the device switches off automatically and the LED3 flashes
LED
up red. Possible causes: Lightning strikes, continuous flashovers on defence, defective device. Isolate the device
3
in order to reset the disrupted operation. After switching on again the LED3 must go out, otherwise the device
must be sent in for repair.
The fence voltage and Argutector indicator shows both values alternately.
The 6 LEDs indicate the fence output voltage in 1.000V steps. The display builds up from the left. For minding
security at least 3 LEDs (3.000) should light up otherwise the voltage is too low. Possible causes:
• With fence:
heavy plant growth on the fence, poor insulators, short-circuit on metal posts or fence
too long
• Without fence:
Device is defective, see Service
The 6 LEDs indicate the fence insulation by the Argutector display in 6 stages. The display builds up from the
right. If all 6 LEDs light up, the fence insulation is good and little energy is required to maintain minding security.
The less number of LEDs are alight, the poorer the fence insulation due to leakage currents (plant growth,
branches fallen onto the fence system, short-circuit, poor earthing). Increased energy is required to keep the
fence secure.
The following modes can be selected:

Normal pulse sequence (1.5 seconds) The maximum output energy can be achieved. The economy circuit

* APN (Automatic Power Niveau): The output energy of the device is set initially to 50% and the actual fence voltage is mea-
sured continuously. If the output voltage is below 5,000 V or drops below this value, the device gradually increases the output
energy until the output voltage is above 5,000 V or the maximum energy of the device (100%) is reached. In order to ensure the
minding security with the lowest possible energy requirement, the output power can also be turned down automatically when
the fence voltage is above the minimum minding voltage of 5,000 V.
This intelligent regulation ensures that the set voltage or minimum minding voltage on the device of 5,000 V is always main-
tained at the same time as optimizing the device's energy requirement.
The device is in the „Normal" mode the first time that it is switched on. If the device is switched off (up to 7
days) or the rechargeable battery is changed, the device starts back up in the last set mode.
EARTHING:
Good earthing of the fence is extremely important for trouble-free operation and optimum performance of the
device, therefore it should be earthed in a moist and overgrown place if possible.
Use AN50 = 3 earthing rods (1m long) or AN70 = 5 earthing rods (1m long). If the ground is dry and the fence is
long, an additional earth conductor with intermediate earths (every 50m) should be laid along the fence.
CHECKING THE EARTHING:
Provoke a short-circuit by driving a metal rod into the ground against the pasture fence wire (not plastic) about
50 m away from the pasture fence device. The pasture fence device should now only light up maximum 1 LED
(moist ground) or maximum 2 LEDs (dry ground), otherwise the number and/or length of the earth stakes should
be increased.
FAULTS:
Disconnect all power sources. Reconnect all power sources after 20 seconds. The device starts up with the last-
used settings after switching „on".
SERVICE:
Repair is only to be made by qualified service personnel.
Only by the manufacturer commanded replacement parts must be used.
SUBJECT TO TECHNICAL ALTERATIONS !
