Safety measures

The BEHAbelt Hot-Press-Controllers have been constructed and tested in accordance with the
safety regulations for electrical equipment for measurement, control and laboratory DIN EN
61010-1 and have left the factory in a safe and perfect condition. To maintain this condition,
the user must follow the safety instructions in this manual.
In all cases, the accident prevention regulations of the Accident Prevention &
Insurance Association have to be followed.
Operation is only permitted in the specified voltage-range printed on the unit itself
or in this user-manual! Non-observance will damage the unit and can cause a
life-threatening situation!
Connect the unit only if the electrical installation is correct. Take special care that the
grounding (PE) is correct.
The maximum power of the unit is limited. Never connect equipment to the device
that exceeds maximum power.
To avoid an electric shock, observe the precautions when working with voltages
exceeding 120 V (60 V) DC or 50 V (25 V) eff. AC. In accordance with DIN VDE
these values represent the threshold contact voltages (values in brackets refer to
limited ranges, e. g. in agricultural areas).
Before using the unit, ensure that all leads / cables and the instrument itself are in
perfect working conditions. Look out e. g. for broken cables, a damaged housing or
broken connectors.
Safety is no longer guaranteed in the following cases:
Obvious damages
If the unit can no longer perform the required performance
Stored for too long in unfavourable conditions
Damaged during transport
Never use a damaged unit.
Make sure that only correct working equipment designed according to the respective
standards is used with the unit. For example, a defect hot press, damaged cables or
cooling pump can be source of danger. There is the risk e.g. of an electrical shock,
burns or cuts.
All cables which can be connected to the controller should not exceed a maximum
length of 3m.
