Lying position - Sling application
It is only recommended to use MediumBack
slings from a lying position if the user can be
transferred in a seated position.
1. Turn the user towards you so that the user is lying in a safe
position on their side. Place the sling centered on the users back
with the bottom edge placed above the knee under the users
thigh. Fold the sling so it is possible to pull out the folded side
after turning the user over on the other side.
2. Pull out the folded sling. Make sure the sling is placed in the
centre of the users back.
3. Make sure the lifting straps are the same length on both sides
and that the sling is placed under the users tighs without any
folds. Raise the user into sitting postition before lifting.
Make sure the sling is placed well under
the thighs close to the knee. User can slip
or fall out of sling if it is not placed under
the entire length.
Connect all 4 lifting straps to suspension. Make sure the lifting
straps are fastened with equal length on right and left side. Upper
straps and leg straps can be mounted with different colours on
ladder loop to make sure sling is comfortable and safe.
Do not cross the leg support. Leg straps will
sqeeze the user and might cause pain.
