Mount the accessories, if necessary.
NOTICE
The full face mask can also be cleaned and disinfected in a washing
machine. Further information can be obtained from Dräger.
Leak tests
Check the full face mask after every use and after every maintenance
and repair.
Perform the leak test with a suitable test unit (e.g. from the Testor or
Quaestor series).
Checking for leaks: Observe the test unit's instructions for use.
Moisten the inside of the face seal with water and set the full face
mask on the test head, see "Donning the full face mask". Inflate the
test head until the face seal fits everywhere. Seal the mask connector
with the adapter. Generate a negative pressure of 10 mbar. The full
face mask is considered free of leaks if the change in pressure is less
than or equal to 1 mbar after 1 minute. If not, perform an underwater
leak test: Remove the voice transmission/receiver set if necessary.
Completely immerse the test head with the applied full face mask in
water. Create an overpressure of approx. 10 mbar and slowly turn the
immersed test head. Emerging air bubbles indicate the leak. Remove
the test head and applied full face mask from the water and seal the
leaks. Repeat the leak test.
After the test: Press the button and remove the adapter. Remove
the full face mask from the test head and dry it if necessary.
Voice transmission/receiver set: Attach the microphone, receiver
and ear cup, see "Special maintenance work".

Special maintenance work
Attaching the voice transmission/receiver set
1
Attach the ear cup.
2
Fasten the receiver to the harness.
3
Fasten the receiver to the face seal
with the clamping ring.
4
Screw in the microphone.
Replacing the visor: Hold the hexagon nuts in position and unscrew
the screws. Pry the visor frame apart at the joints using a screwdriver,
then pull it off to the top and bottom. Remove the support plate, if
necessary; see "Replacing the mask connector". Detach the old visor
from the rubber frame.
Remove the wiper from the old visor and attach it to the new visor.
Only use visors marked with an "F" (fire brigade). The »F« is located at
the top. Insert the new visor first in the upper and then in the lower part
of the rubber frame. The centre markings on the visor should line up
with the seam on the mask body. Pull the rubber frame over the left
and right edges of the visor. Moisten the outside of the rubber frame
and the inside of the visor frame with soapy water. First press on the
upper, then the lower visor frame. Insert the support plate if necessary.
Screw the screws into the hexagon nuts and tighten until the gap
between the clamping cams is 3 to 0.5 mm.
