2 - ACCIDENT PREVENTION WARNINGS

2.1.2 General warnings

WARNING!
Wear suitable clothing and safety apparel, namely non-slip boots, tough pants, anti-vibration gloves, protective
eyewear, ear defenders and hard hat. Garments should be close-fitting but comfortable. Do not wear scarves,
bracelets or other items that could snag on the machine.
Use the machine only for the durations permitted and indicated in heading 4.2 "Use".
A person under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or taking medication liable to slow the reflexes, is considered
unfit to handle or operate the machine; neither can such a person carry out maintenance or repairs on the machine.
Do not allow other persons within a 10-metre radius of the machine during operation.
Entrust or lend the machine only to persons who have been trained by authorized instructors.
Keep children and animals well away from the machine.
It is forbidden to tamper with safety devices.
The user is liable for hazards or accidents that could affect other persons or their property.
Do not utilize the machine when standing unsteadily or off-balance.
Start the engine only in an open and well-ventilated place.
Do not perform any maintenance operation with the engine (3, Fig. A) running.
Use the machine only for the purposes described in heading 3.2; any other kind of use could result in accidents.
Keep well away from heat sources when filling the fuel tank.
Do not smoke when refuelling.
Do not remove the fuel filler cap (15, Fig. C) when the engine (3) is running.
Be careful not to spill fuel on the ground or on the engine (3); should fuel happen to spill when filling the tank, move
the machine elsewhere before starting the engine.
Do not use fuel (two-stroke) for cleaning purposes.
Do not test the spark plug near the cylinder hole.
Do not use the machine if the muffler (29, Fig. N) is damaged.
Always keep the handles (5, Fig. A) and (17, Fig. D) clean and dry, free of oil and fuel.
Keep the machine in a dry place, away from heat sources and raised off the ground.
Check the Shaker daily when in use to ensure that all devices, safety or otherwise, are in good working order.
Do not attempt to carry out any operation or repair other than routine maintenance. Contact an Authorized Service
Centre.
Do not use the machine when tired or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, recreational or medicinal.
The Shaker must be equipped with the attachments (rods and hooks) recommended by the manufacturer.
Before starting the engine, check that the throttle trigger (12, Fig. C) functions smoothly.
Before starting the engine, check that the hook is free and not in contact with branches or other objects.
During operation, stop the engine and check the hook at regular intervals. Replace the hook as soon as cracks or
breaks appear.
The hook should not move when the engine is idling. If this is not the case, adjust the idle set screw.
Transport the Shaker with the engine off and the rod disconnected.
Do not start the engine without the rod connected.

2.2 Use

Take up a stable and secure working stance.
Use the machine only for the purposes described in heading 3.2; any other kind of use could result in accidents.
WARNING!
Fruit will not be separated more effectively by throttling harder and longer on the same part of the branch; rather, move
the hook to another part of the branch and shake again.

2.3 Maintenance

WARNING!
Before carrying out any maintenance on the machine or making mechanical adjustments, put on safety boots, gloves,
ear defenders and protective eyewear.
Before carrying out any maintenance on the machine or making mechanical adjustments, turn off the engine.
Any repair or maintenance work of a routine nature can be performed by an operator in possession of the appropriate
physical and intellectual abilities.
Major servicing or repairs must be entrusted to a maintenance technician.
Unauthorized persons must keep well away from the machine when servicing or repair operations are in progress.
