Note:
• With a small capacitor range, the reading will include the small value because of some influence from the
distribution of the test leads. It will not influence the accuracy of the measurement.
DIODE
• Insert the black test lead into the COM jack and the red test lead into the V/ jack.
• Set the selector at the
• Connect the red lead with the anode and the black lead with the cathode.
• Read the value from the LCD.
Note:
• The meter will show the approximate forward voltage drop of the diode.
• The meter will show "1" when the connection of the leads is inversed or with an open circuit.
TRANSISTOR
• Insert the multifunctional test socket into the COM and the Cx jacks.
• Set the selector at the hFE range.
• Identify whether the transistor is NPN or PNP and insert the emitter, base and collector leads into the proper
holes.
LIVE WIRE IDENTIFICATION
• Insert the red test lead into the V/ jack.
• Set the selector at the
• The wire is live when the meter shows "1" and emits a sound.
Note:
• The meter can only test electric live wires of standard current.
• This range should be operated according to the safety standards.
6. Cable Testing
The cable-test function can be used to test telephone cables, network cables, etc. on continuity, short-circuits, open
circuits, miswirings, etc. To do so, proceed as follows:
• Insert one end of the cable into the top input; insert the other end of the cable into the lower input.
• Set the selector at AUTO or MANUAL. In AUTO mode, all wires will automatically be checked. In MANUAL mode,
press HOLD/TEST to check the next cable.
• A wiring will be correct when the LED on the multimeter matches the LED on the test module. When testing an
RJ11 cable, a wiring will be correct when the LED on the multimeter matches the opposite LED on the test
module. Refer to the table below.
