4. Push the muffler cover as shown in the illustration.
5. Loosen the screws and nuts.
6. Lift up the muffler and do a check of its condition.
7. Some mufflers are equipped with a special spark
arrestor mesh. Clean the spark arrestor mesh at
least one a month if your product has this type of
muffler. Use a wire brush.
CAUTION: If the spark arrestor mesh is
blocked the product will overheat and this
will cause damage to the cylinder and
piston.
CAUTION: The spark arrestor mesh must be
replaced if it is damaged. Never use a
product if the spark arrestor mesh on the
muffler is missing or defective.

2. Pull out the cord approximately 30 cm (12 inch) and
hook it into the notch in the rim of the pulley.
Release the recoil spring by letting the pulley rotate
slowly backwards.
3. Remove the screw in the centre of the pulley and lift
the pulley up.
WARNING: When the recoil spring is

replace the return spring or the starter
cord. Wear protective glasses and
protective gloves.
4. Insert and fasten a new starter cord to the pulley.
Wind approximately 3 turns of the starter cord onto
the pulley.
5. Connect the pulley to the recoil spring so that the
end of the spring engages in the pulley.
6. Fit the screw in the centre of the pulley.
7. Insert the starter cord through the hole in the starter
housing and the starter handle. Make a secure knot
