5. Setup
5.1 Setting up a simple perimeter loop
- Power up your loop driver and check that all potentiometers are at 0.
- Connect your loop to the »speakON« Master connector.
- Connect a 1 kHz sinusoidal source tone to one of the inputs.
- Increase the input signal on the front panel of the PROLOOP driver to reach between 26
and 36 dB on the input meter.
- Increase the output current via the Master output adjuster on the front panel of the
driver to reach between 75% and 100% on the output level indicator.
- Take a field strength meter and take a first measurement in the center of your room.
- Adjust the settings to -3dB in the center of the zone.
- Perform further adjustments to achieve a IEC60118-4 compliant installation.
5.2 Setting up a Master and Slave configuration
The units of the designated »LOS« series integrate a second driver within in the unit, which
makes it possible to establish low overspill systems without needing a second driver.
In cases where a very large coverage area is needed, several units can be combined in
Master- and Slave setups to achieve this. The Master driver unit is the unit to which the au-
dio source signal is connected at INPUT 1, 2 or 3. This will be the basic signal, the internal
phase shift modules within in the units will then shift this signal by 90 ° or 0 ° to pass it to
the next slave driver.
There is no particular setting needed to determine which driver will be a Slave unit: The
Master driver is the only driver that will have INPUT 1, 2 or 3 in use. See section 4.7.1.
5.2.1 Master loop
- Power up your Master driver and check that all controls are set to 0.
- Connect your primary loop to the »speakON« Master loop connector
- Connect a 1 kHz sinusoidal source tone to one of the inputs
- Increase the input signal on the front panel of the PRO LOOP driver to between 26 and
36 dB of the input level indicator.
- Increase the output current via the Master output adjuster on the front panel of the
driver to reach between 75% and 100% on the output level indicator.
- Take a field strength meter and take a first measurement in the center of your room.
See the following section 5.2.2.
