Dispersion tool S 25 KV -
Dispersion tool S 25 N - 10G

Safety instructions

• Observe all pertinent safety instructions and directives, as well as work-
safety and accident-prevention regulations for laboratory use. The unit
must not be operated without a dispersion tool.
T25 1096EU
Never run dispersion tools dry, as the gasket and bearings will be destroyed
if the tools are not cooled by the medium. The gasketand bearings are
made of PTFE and rustproof steel; the following points should therefore be

noted:
17
Chemical reactions of PTFE occur in contact with molten or solute alkali
18
metals and alkaline earth metals, as well as with fine powders of metals in
18
groups 2 and 3 of the periodic system at temperatures above 300 °C - 400
18
°C. Only elementary fluorine, chlorotrifluoride and alkali metals attack it;
18
halogenated hydrocarbons have a reversible swelling effect.

• Vibrations may loosen the hand screw on the flange of the drive unit. For
20
your own safety check that the hand screw is secure and tighten it if
20
necessary.
21
21
• Glass vessels must always be secured with a clamp to prevent them
22
spinning. When working with flasks elastic couplers must be used to
23
prevent fracture of the glass.
24
• Switch on the drive only at the lowest speed setting. Then gradually
24
increase the speed to the desired level.
25
25
• Only dispersion and agitating tools approved by IKA may be used!
25
25
• Even in the case of repair work, the unit must only be opened by a
26
qualified engineer. The mains plug must be pulled before opening the unit.
27
The voltage-carrying components inside the unit may continue to carry a
28
voltage for some time after the mains plug is pulled.
80
• Caution: Pull the mains plug before changing the dispersion heads!
81
• Caution: The integral switch (2) is only single-pole and is thus not suitable
for safely isolating the unit from the supply!
• The ventilation slots on the drive must not be obstructed!
• The device does not start up again after a current failure.
• The T 25 basic may not be used to process inflammable or explosive
media.
