22.5 Clean speci c materials

Material

22.6 Clean the stainless steel

Certain situa ons can cause the forma on of rust on the surfaces in steel:
iron remains le on damp surfaces, limestone, chlorine or ammonia based detergents not rinsed
properly, food incrusta ons or residues, salt-saline solu ons, dry residues of evaporated liquids.
How to proceed recent stains and rust:
clean with shampoo or neutral detergents, using a sponge or a rag.
When nished, eliminate any detergent residue, rinsing abundantly and tho-
roughly drying the surfaces.

use chemical substances on the stainless steel that contain 25% of nitric acid or
similar substances.
persistent stains and rust:
sandpaper or polish with a stainless steel brush. A er this opera on, wash with
detergents and carefully dry.

Remove from the oor any items such as sponges, rags, waste of water or detergent.

DO NOT use waxes, concentrated detergents,
which contain oil, bleach, glass cleaners, abra-
sive detergents or ammable uids
DO NOT use acid or alkaline detergents (e.g.
bleach) which could corrode the surfaces
DO NOT use rough or abrasive materials or
metal scrapers that could scratch the alumi-
nium surfaces
DO NOT use steam cleaning equipment
DO NOT use dirty cloths
DO NOT use spray cans, acid or alkaline de-
tergents (e.g. bleach), soda or solvents which
could corrode the surfaces
DO NOT use rough or abrasive materials that
could scratch the surfaces
