1.4. Who the manual is intended for

This manual constitutes an essential guide for all those persons who use the machines
or are involved in its maintenance.
Relevant job profiles are given below:
User:
Person, body or company that has purchased or rented the machine and intends to use
it for the purposes for which it was designed. Is responsible for the machine and proper
training of those involved in its use.
Operator:
Person trained to use the machine.
Person able to operate the machine; only allowed to carry out simple adjustments. Not
authorised to carry out maintenance on the mechanical parts of the machine.
Mechanical maintenance technician:
Specialised technician able to service mechanical parts so that the necessary
maintenance and repair tasks can be completed.

1.5. Proper and improper use of the machines

The machines have been designed exclusively for the purpose of harvesting olives by
shaking the branches. Intended for professional use. Operators must be of proven
aptitude and be able to read and understand the entire contents of this manual. The
machines must be used in observance of the accident prevention standards in force,
bearing in mind working conditions and the characteristics of the machine itself.
DANGER:
Never use the machines in places with an explosive atmosphere!

1.6. Risks associated with use of the machines

1.6.1. Noise risk

The noise level was measured with the machines running as per UNI EN ISO
11201. The following results were obtained:

Average sound pressure LpA (A) dB 83,05
- Average sound power LwA (A) dB 100 db(A)
These figures show that the machines generates high noise
levels.
