3. USE

3.1. Handling and transport

The machines can easily be transported both packaged or unpackaged. When it is
transported check that it does not protrude from the vehicle in such a ways as to cause
accidents.

3.2. Before use

Before starting the machines the operator must have read and understood all
sections of this manual, especially Chapter 2 concerning safety.
Before using the machines for the first time:
-
familiarise yourself with the controls and their functions,
-
check that machines components subject to wear or deterioration are in good
condition,
-
check that all safety systems are working properly and covers fitted properly.
3.3. Assembly and connection
To assemble the machines on the pole, turn the threaded part clockwise until it stops.
To disassemble turn in the opposite direction.
After installing the machines on the pole and before power on, make sure that
the compressor pressure is between 6 and 8bar, as higher pressure values
could cause early wear of machine parts.

3.4. Using the machines

To start the machines must connect the handle to the compressor. Pressing the lever on
the handle the machines starts. The release lever stops the operation. This provision is
to guarantee the safety of the operator in case of accidental fall allows the blocking of
moving parts.
Once it has been started bring the rake up to the branch to be shaken. Be careful of
branches heavily loaded with fruit.
-
Grip the machines securely with both hands and make sure you have a good,
stable stance. NOTE: Never touch the moving parts of the machines.
-
To power off the machines, turn the tap in the opposite direction to the power-on
direction.
Tips on using the rake:
-
Machines mechanical component wear is closely linked with the way in which the
machines are used. Insistently shaking a particular branch may cause the machines
to stop as a result of mechanical overloading of the machines components.
Overload stops should be limited to a minimum: this will extend the working life of
your equipment!
-
To prevent dangerous overloads that can damage the rake it is advisable to
intersperse the shaking action with regular pauses so as not to stress the machines
beyond the standards for which it has been designed and tested.
-
To reduce the effect of the vibration on the hand-arm, it is advised that you take a
15-minute break from use of the rake every 2 hours.
