MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

4.1. Routine maintenance

A longer machines life and lower running costs depend on the observance of this rule:
before any maintenance work, disconnect the machine from any form of power supply.
Periodic checks:
1) Body screws: tighten weekly
2) driving shaft: check it is good condition, monthly
3) level of wear on moving parts: carry out checks, daily.
The above checking frequencies are indicative only and refer to standard working
conditions. Frequency may vary as a function of the way the machine is used and
environmental conditions (e.g. humidity, dust).
Maintenance work must be carried out more frequently where the rake is used intensely.
Before carrying out any operation ensure that the machine is disconnected.
4.2. Cleaning and lubricating the machine
Lubrication must be done systematically and periodically via the special FRL unit
located on the compressor.
It is advisable to adjust the lubrication group: 1 drop for 20 seconds to oil the machine.

4.3. Storage

If you do not expect to use the machines for some time proceed as follows:
-
disconnect the machines from the compressor;
-
clean the machines: remove any dirt from its surfaces or, more importantly, any dirt
in the midst of mechanical parts;
-
check and, where necessary, replace any damaged/worn parts;
-
lubricate the mechanical parts of the machine carefully with high-temperature oil or
grease;
-
cover or repackage the machine to prevent dust or dirt settling on or inside the
machine.
Carrying out the above maintenance tasks will ensure that the machines are in perfect
working order when work is recommenced.

4.4. Dismantling the machine

Disconnect the machines from the electrical power supply and cut the power lead.
The machines are made of materials that can be re-used or recycled, the most
important of which is iron. Hand your machines over to an official materials recycling
centre.
Help safeguard the environment by applying proper waste disposal practices to the
packaging of the machine too.
Your local authority will be able to provide you with information on best waste disposal
practices so as to ensure observation of environmental protection standard
