7.1 USB interface

To use the universal output as a USB interface, set the output <SEt Out> in the extended con-
figuration menu to Out = SEr. With a USB 300 galvanically separate interface converter (acces-
sory), the instrument can be connected directly to the USB interface of a PC. If the instrument is
operated with the USB 300 interface adapter, the instrument draws its power from this interface.
This interface can also be used to transfer and analyse data, and also to operate the logger
function. The following software package is available for this: GSOFT3050 (accessory).
The transfer takes place in a binary-encoded format and is protected against transmission
errors by sophisticated security mechanisms (CRC).

7.2 Analogue output

To use the universal output as an analogue output, set the output <SEt Out> in the exten-
ded configuration menu to Out = dAC. An analogue voltage of 0–1 V can be picked up at
the universal output socket. The analogue output can be scaled very easily with dAC.0 and
dAC.1. Care should be taken to ensure that the analogue output is not loaded too heavily,
since otherwise the output value can be rendered incorrect and the instrument's power
consumption increases accordingly. Loads of up to around 10 kΩ are no cause for concern.
If the display falls below the value set with dAC.0, 0 V is output.
If the display exceeds the value set with dAC.1, 1 V is output.
In the event of an error (Err.1, Err.2, etc.), a voltage just slightly over 1 V is output at the
analogue output.

8 Adjusting the instrument

The Offset and Scale functions allow the temperature input to be adjusted. Use only reliable
references to do this, such as iced water or controlled precision baths. If an adjustment has
been made, the word >Corr< appears when the instrument is switched on.
• Offset correction only: Displayed value = measured value – offset
• Offset and slope correction: Display = (measured value – OFFS) *
(1 + SCAL / 100)
