Tool assembly

Tools with ABS® connection
All existing ABS32 tools for precision machining applications
can be used in conjunction with the MicroKom® hi.flex
precision drilling system.
ABS® tools are clamped by means of securing screw 6.
"Fasten" securing screw 7 to prevent it from falling out.

Tools with parallel shank
6
Flexibility in projection length: boring bars B05 support vari-
7
able clamping lengths. Boring bars can be clamped with a
maximum projection of 9 mm (clamp using both securing
screws 6 and 7). Boring bars with parallel shank: DIN
1835-B and E only suitable provided certain conditions are
met; DIN 1835-A possible.
During tool assembly, the indexable insert must be pointing
towards the cutting edge illustrated here.
Maximum permissible rotation speed = 17,500 rpm
Prerequisites – valid with slide centred and with boring bar
B05 20100.
Coolant: The head features an internal coolant supply. With
the use of boring bars and the serrated body, the coolant
is supplied centrally through the body of the boring bar.
From a diameter of 63 upwards, the coolant-diverting stop-
per must be fitted. The stopper prevents the coolant from
escaping from the center and diverts the coolant internally.
Stopper
Clamp the stopper separately using both securing screws
6 and 7.
6
The use of the central coolant supply is mandatory. The
7
cooling lubricant helps to ensure optimum chip formation
and chip removal.
The coolant pressure should not fall below the minimum of
5 bar. Increasing the coolant pressure to 10-20 bar improves
the machining process and is therefore highly recommended
where possible.
