6.1 Setting up the ABIPLAS
CAUTION

Risk of injury

Puncture or stab wounds may be caused by the tungsten electrode tip.
• Keep your hands out of the danger zone.
• Wear the correct protective gloves.

Steps for setting up the ABIPLAS
1 Insert the blunt end of the tungsten electrode about 5 mm into the back cap.
2 Insert both parts into the torch body and tighten with the back cap.
3 Unscrew the back cap half a turn anti-clockwise.
4 Insert the centring ceramics into the torch body from below.
5 Screw the alignment gauge onto the torch body as far as it will go. This pushes the tungsten
electrode back to the preset setting dimension.
NOTICE
• The standard setting dimension for the electrode setting is 3 mm.
6 Fully tighten the back cap. The tungsten electrode is clamped into place.
7 Unscrew the alignment gauge.
8 Attach the insulating ring and screw on the distributor ring and gas diffuser.
9 Insert the plasma nozzle and tighten with the fastening nut.
10Screw the gas diffuser back down against the fastening nut.
11 Screw on the gas nozzle.
