General safety information
Please read through these operating instructions carefully and make yourself conversant with the control
elements and the proper use of this product. We shall not be liable in the case of damage caused as a result of
the nonobservance of instructions and provisions of the present operating instructions. Any damage caused as
a result of the nonobservance of the instructions and regulations contained in the present operating instructions
shall not be covered by the warranty terms. Please keep these operating instructions in a safe place and hand
them on together with the device should you ever dispose of it.
Children and other persons not conversant with the contents of these operating instructions must not use this
device. Please keep an eye on children to make sure they will not use the unit as a toy to play with. In various
countries, applicable provisions may be in place which might contain restrictions regarding the age of the user,
and they have to be adhered to in any case.
This appliance is not suitable for use by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lacking experience and/or knowledge, except if they are supervised by a person responsible for
their safety or have been instructed in the use of the appliance.
Children should be supervised in order to make sure that they do not play with the appliance.
Please inspect the device for damage occurred during transportation. In case of damage, the retailer has to be
informed immediately, at the latest within 8 days after the date of purchase.
Please refer to the type plate for technical specifi cations or the table on page 1.
Use
The pump is designed to aerate aquaria and pond water. Do not place the pump above water to avoid slip into
water, it must be installed and used outside the water.
Safety guidlines (see fi g. 1)
- Mains voltage and type of current have to correspond to the data on the type plate.
- Pull out mains plug before starting to work or maintenance on the pump, in the pond or aquarium
(disconnect the pump).
- The pump should be placed so that it cannot fall in the water. Keep the pump dry.
Fix the pump by means of a string (A) which can pass through the hole at the back side of the pump.
Caution! The pump may travel due to the vibrations that result during
operation. Ensure the pump is fi xed by the string (A) securely before operation.
- The pump should be placed at higher level than water surface (B).
- The pump is designed for indoor use only!
- The pump should not be used, if mains connection, plug or housing are damaged. If the supply cord is
damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualifi ed persons in order to
avoid a hazard. Any repair work should be done only by the manufacturer or by an authorized repair shop who
has on hand all the special tools.
- Run a part of the cable downward in a curve so as to prevent water fl owing freely along the cable to the plug or
the plug socket (C). In case plug or socket have got wet, do avoid any contact!
Interrupt current supply to the plug socket!
- Run a part of the hose downward in a curve so as to prevent water fl owing freely along the hose to
the pump (D). In case the pump has got wet, pull out mains plug!
- Do never hang up or transport the pump by the cable!
- Protect the pump from freezing in winter!
- Take special care in following these safety guidlines when children are near by.
Installation
- Order of setting up (see fi g. 1):
1. aerating pump, 2. hose approx. 10 cm, 3. non-return valve, 4. hose and 5. air stone.
Operation and maintenance
The aerating pump is suitable for continuous use.
The diaphragms inside the pump are parts subject to wear, these may be replaced when the pump performance
is decreasing. Replacement of the diaphragms should only be eff ected by the manufacturer or an authorized
repair shop.
Air stone and suction fi lter (in the bottom side of the pump) should be cleaned occasionally.
