Install a firmware update
A firmware update can be installed by a user. However, the
manufacturer recommends that firmware updates are installed by an
authorized service representative.
A firmware update is installed with a direct PC connection or over a LAN
connection.

Procedure notes:
• A TCP/IP connection is necessary to install a firmware update over a
LAN connection.
• Bootloader V1.3 or newer is necessary to install a firmware update
over a LAN connection. Use a local PC and the Service port to install
Bootloader V1.3 or newer on the instrument as necessary.
Items to collect:
• Setup utility CD
• Firmware update file
1. For a local PC connection, connect the service port cable to the
Service port and the PC.
2. Open the SetupUtility.exe file on the supplied CD to start the setup
utility software.
3. Make sure that the setup utility software is version 2.0.0.8 or newer.
Contact the manufacturer for other versions.
4. For a LAN connection, make sure that the instrument is selected in
the instrument list on the LAN Setup tab of the setup utility software.
5. Make sure that the firmware version shown in the Instrument
Information section is version 2.11 or newer.
6. Click Update Firmware.
7. Select the firmware update file, then click Open and OK.
The installation starts. The status of the firmware update shows
below the Update Firmware button. The status indicator light on the
instrument flashes yellow to show update activity. A confirmation
message shows when the firmware update is complete.
8. If an error message is shown, make sure that the instrument has
power and is connected to the correct port on the PC.
9. If a power loss occurs before the firmware update is complete:
a. Do step 2, then 6–7 again.
b. When the message "Waiting for instrument reply" is shown,
remove and then apply power to the instrument within
30 seconds.
