Operation

In case of any failure or malfunction, the equipment in which the sensor is installed, needs to be
in a safe condition (depressurized, empty, rinse, vent, etc.).

4.3.1 Process conditions

– The plant pressure should never exceed the specification of the delivered sensor.
– The process temperature should never exceed the specification of the delivered sensor.
Caution! Exceeding the specified maximum pressure and /or the specified maximum
temperature represent a very high safety risk. Please read the additional safety instruc-
tions before installation.
– Avoid air and gas bubbles inside the sensor, they cause disturbances. Noise and drift of the
measurement would be the result (air bubbles are not expected at a pressures higher than
2 bar in aqueous solutions).
– If the process temperature lies permanently above 70 ° C (158 °F), air purge connectors ne-
ed to be used (available as spare parts).

4.3.2 Calibration

– The sensor is factory calibrated. The calibration data are stored in the sensor. There is no
need to enter the data manually. The calibration data sheet serves as a confirmation of the
factory calibration.
– Instructions for process calibration procedures are described in detail within the instruction
manual of the transmitter Trb 8300 D and in the manual of the turbidity software from
METTLER TOLEDO.
– Important information on configuration, calibration and start-up is printed in the respective
instruction manuals as well.
