protected from coming in contact with water. Do Not Submerse.
4. DANGER – To avoid possible electrical shock, unplug canopy
before re-lamping, cleaning or repositioning
the canopy. Canopy can become very HOT
in use. Always allow the canopy to cool
for 15 min. prior to handling, re-lamping,
cleaning or performing any other type of
maintenance. If canopy is damaged, do
not attempt repairs yourself; return the
appliance to an authorized service facility
for service or discard the appliance.

a damaged electrical cord or plug, or if
it is malfunctioning or if it is dropped or
damaged in any manner. The power cord
of this appliance cannot be replaced: if the
cord is damaged, the appliance should be
4
discarded. Never cut the cord.
6. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including

weather or to temperatures below freezing.
11. Make sure the appliance is securely installed before operating it.
Do not place object(s) on top of the canopy, except in the special

Installation Instructions:
Important: Use only Exo-Terra
halogen and fluorescent terrarium
®
light bulbs as per the wattage rating indicated on the electrical data
label located on the canopy.
• This equipment is FOR INDOOR USE ONLY
• WARNING: Disconnect the plug of this canopy and all other
electrical equipment used for the terrarium before placing your
hands in the terrarium and/or performing any maintenance of
any kind.
• WARNING: Always Unplug appliance and allow to cool BEFORE
installing, removing or changing fluorescent or halogen light
bulbs or performing maintenance, installing or removing the
canopy or any other equipment.
1. Fit the Exo Terra
fluorescent tubes into the sockets on the
®
underside of the canopy. Follow maximum wattage guidelines.
2. Verify that the halogen bulb(s) is correctly installed in the
socket(s). Carefully place the canopy on the terrarium rim with
the bulb(s) facing downward. Ensure the canopy fits squarely
and securely and that the halogen bulbs are positioned directly
over the metal mesh area of the mesh top. The halogen bulbs
should not shine directly onto the plastic rim or cross menbers of
the terrarium top.
3. Do not place objects(s) on the top of the canopy, except in the
special instrument rail designed for this purpose. The ventilation
slots on top and at the fan end of the canopy allow heat to

any dust or debris is promptly removed.
4. Plug in canopy. Use canopy switch to turn lighting "on" or "off."
WARNING: DO NOT plug in the canopy if there is water on any
parts.
NOTE: The cooling fan operates ONLY in conjunction with the
halogen lamps. The cooling fan will not operate when only the
fluorescent lamps are operating.
