Cleaning the appliance

D Remove limescale in the tank and on the heater with a vinegar solution or a limescale dis­
solving detergent. Take note of the cleaning instructions provided by the detergent manufac­
turer when using limescale dissolving detergents.
. Cleaning:
− Fill the tank with a vinegar solution so that all the limescale is covered. The vinegar water
or the limescale remover must cover the heater by at least 3 cm.
− Boil the vinegar solution briefly and allow to act for about 15 to 30 minutes depending on
the limescale deposits.
− Drain the cleaning vinegar into a storage container. You can use the vinegar solution re­
peatedly to remove limescale.
− Clean the tank and the heater.
. Empty and clean the Gastronorm container.
. Rinse the cleaned surfaces thoroughly with water and rub them dry.
. Clean stainless steel surfaces with grease-dissolving cleaning products or special stainless
steel cleaners.
. Swivel heating element in.
. Close the drain tap.

Errors and remedies

If there are malfunctions on the device, check these against the following table:
Malfunction

Possible cause
Main switch not turned on in

The network fuse has been
tripped.
An upstream energy optimising
unit is not switching on the heat­
ing.
The safety temperature limiter
has turned off.
Remedy
Turn on the main switch.
Notify
the electricity supply company.
Have possible appliance faults checked
by an authorized customer service agent.
Reset the circuit breaker.
Check the energy optimising unit.
Have the appliance checked by the cus­
tomer service or a qualified electrician.
