MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS

4. The numbers on the fence indicate the
rebating width. When "1" is next to the slide,
the rebating width is approximately 1 inch.
5. If it is necessary to rebate to a precise width,
plane a scrap piece of wood, measure the
rebate distance and adjust the
setting if necessary.
Shavings extraction
1. Depending on which side of the planer you
wish the chips to flow, connect the shavings
adaptor tube (15) to the appropriate dust/chip
extraction port (6).
2. The adaptor tube (15) can be installed to
allow shavings to flow either to the left or to
the right of the workpiece.
3. Set the extraction guide switch (8) to point
towards the extraction port (6) that is to
be used.
4. If desired, fit the shavings collection bag (16)
to the adaptor tube (15) so that the shavings
are collected for ready disposal.
5. A workshop dust extraction system
or a household vacuum cleaner can
be connected to the adaptor tube (15)
for the efficient removal of dust and
shavings allowing a safer and cleaner
working environment.
Drive belt replacement
CAUTION: Always ensure that the tool is
switched off and unplugged from the power

or removing blades.
1. To replace the drive belt, first take out the four
cross-head screws that secure the drive belt
cover on the left-hand side of the planer as
viewed from the rear.
2. Remove the damaged belt and use a
soft brush to clean the pulleys and the
surrounding area.
GB

pulley. Fit half the other end of the belt on
the top pulley then roll the belt in place while
turning the pulley.
4. Check that the belt runs evenly by manually
turning it.
5. Replace the cover and the four fixing screws.
6. Replace the electrical plug and run the planer
for a minute or two to make sure that the
motor and belt are operating correctly.
Maintenance
Always ensure that the tool is switched off
and the plug is removed from the power
point before making any adjustments or
maintenance procedures.
Cleaning
1. Keep the tool's air vents unclogged
and clean at all times.
2. Remove dust and dirt regularly.
Cleaning is best done with a rag.
3. Re-lubricate all moving parts at
regular intervals.
4. Never use caustic agents to clean
plastic parts.
CAUTION: Do not use cleaning agents to clean
the plastic parts of the tool. A mild detergent
on a damp cloth is recommended. Water must
never come into contact with the tool.
General inspection
Regularly check that all the fixing screws are
tight. They may vibrate loose over time.
