The VIKING free-standing pellet stove is operated with the touch control panel. The six control buttons
of the touch control panel provide access to the available operating modes. The following table lists
the control button functions.

FIRING THE PELLET STOVE
To ignite and fire up the pellet stove, first turn it on with the power switch next to the power cord
receptacle on the back panel (see Fig. 1). Make sure that the pellet hopper has the right fuel type in
it. Next, press and hold the button P2 for 3 seconds on the touch control panel. This will initiate the
ignition stage, with the following messages shown on the Status field of the display:
- Checking: The controller checks for fuel in the pellet hopper and tests all user safety-related com-
ponents.
- Igniting: The ceramic igniter becomes hot, the auger feeds the pellets from the pellet hopper, and the
flue exhaust fan is started. The first firing ignition may take up to 15 minutes, since the auger must
be filled with the pellets.
- Stabilizing: When the pellets are burning in the combustion chamber, the controller will stabilize
the fire.
- Running: The ignition stage has been completed. The pellet stove is running in its default operating
mode.
STOPPING THE PELLET STOVE

Do not turn off the power supply of the VIKING pellet stove if the touch control panel does
not read OFF.
USER MENU
The following lists the items in the User Menu. The User Menu allows setting the basic operating pa-
rameters of the pellet stove, including the heat output level or the combustion level. You can also
schedule the running and off periods of the pellet stove with the CHRONO mode. The thermostat
of the pellet stove switches it to Heat Output Modulation when it senses the indoor air is at the set
temperature. The Heat Output Modulation mode reduces the fuel consumption and maintains the set
temperature. Open the User Menu by pressing the button P3. Follow Table 3 on how to navigate the
menu and modify the parameters.
