Resharpening the Steel Tools
With sharp tools, good working performance and a
long service life can be achieved.
Therefore, sharpen the tools made of steel before they
become dull:
On a grinding machine
Long service life of the steel tools is achieved by sharp-
ening on grinding wheels (of special fused alumina, for
example) with a constant supply of water.
Turn the machine with the tool inserted by 180°. Do
not switch on the machine!
Take care that no annealing colour (blue colouring) ap-
pears on the blade since this could degrade the hard-
ness of the insertion tool.
On a belt sander
Turn the machine with the tool inserted by 180°. Do
not switch on the machine!
Fasten the belt sander in a clamping device to hold it
stationary. Pay attention to the running direction of the
sanding belt!

Maintenance and Cleaning

Before any work on the machine itself, pull the

mains plug.
For safe and efficient working, always keep the ma-
s
chine and the ventilation slots clean.
Clean the tool shaft after each replacement.
Clean adhesives and other residue from the tool.
Protective cap
The protective cap 1 (Order Number 2 600 712 005)
prevents dust and dirt from entering the tool holder
and also serves as a stroke bumper when no load is
applied to the machine.
The black protective cap on the tool holder 4 can wear
out over a period of time and must then be replaced.
Damaged protective caps are to be replaced immedi-
ately.

WARNING
Important instructions for connecting a new 3-
pin plug to the 2-wire cable.
The wires in the cable are coloured according to the
following code:
Strain relief
Live = brown
Neutral = blue
Do not connect the blue or brown wire to the earth ter-
minal of the plug.
Important: If the plug on the cable of this machine
must be replaced, dispose of the old plug to prevent
misuse.
If the machine should fail despite the care taken in
manufacture and testing, repair should be carried out
by an authorised customer services agent for Bosch
power tools.
For all correspondence and spare parts orders, always
include the 10-digit order number of the machine.
