INCIDENTS, CAUSES AND REMEDIES
Incidents
The softener does not produce
softened water
Water flowing to drain outside
regeneration periods
Water flowing from salt tank
overflow.
The softener does not go into
regeneration

Causes
Bypass open
Regeneration salt low.
Fault or incorrect brine intake.
TH of raw water greater than
anticipated TH
Absence of metering of drawn-off
softened water
Valves or solenoid valves inside
the equipment not watertight
Drain flow poorly adjusted
Insufficient pressure
Brine regulator seal fault.
Regeneration to statistic volume
In case of duplex, another
softener is regenerating
External contact 'lack of water'
Regeneration salt low.
Fault or incorrect brine intake.
Sensor scaled or crusted
Power failure during regeneration An alarm indicating a fault will be
Remedies
Check the residual bypass setting.
Check that the general bypass
is not open.
Check the presence of salt in the
salt tank.
Check the dynamic pressure at
the softener input (minimum
1.5 bar).
Check the TH of the raw water.
Check the volume metering on
the control unit (default turbine,
Hall sensor or electric harness).
Replace the defective compo-
nents.
Replace the drain flow restrictors.
Check the pressure (min. 1.5 bar
dynamic).
Confirm absence of deposits
at the bottom of the salt tank.
Clean the salt tank and the regu-
lator.
Check programmed reserve
and regeneration time
Check that the softener starts
regenerating a few seconds after
the other finishes regeneration
If option not used, confirm the
presence of the strap at terminal
strip J4
Check the presence of salt in the
salt tank.
Check the dynamic pressure at
the softener input (minimum
1.5 bar).
Clean the probe with vinegar.
Replace if necessary
generated at the end of regener-
ation.
