SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
•
Do not point the air flow at people or
animals.
•
Do not use the product as a hair drier –
the hot temperature can cause serious
burns.
•
A damaged power cord must be replaced
by an authorised service centre, or a
qualified person, to ensure safe use.
•
Do not use the product in explosive
environments, for example in the vicinity
of flammable liquids, gas or dust.
•
Improper use can cause a fire.
•
Pull out the plug and allow the product to
cool before putting it away.
•
When not in use, store the product in a
dry place out of the reach of children.
•
Place the product with the nozzle pointing
up when not in use.
•
Never leave the product unattended,
especially when there are children nearby.
•
Be careful if using the product in the
vicinity of flammable materials.
•
Do not point the jet of hot air at the same
spot for a long time.
•
Bear in mind that heat can be transmitted
to flammable material that you cannot see.
•
This product can be used by children from
8 years and upwards and by persons with
physical, sensorial or mental disabilities,
or persons who lack experience or
knowledge, if they are supervised or
receive instructions concerning the safe
use of the product and understand the
risks involved with its use. Do not allow
children to play with the product. Do not
allow children to clean or maintain the
product without supervision. Keep
children under supervision to make sure
they do not play with the hot air gun.
•
Do not block the ventilation openings on
the hot air gun – risk of overheating,
which can damage the hot air gun.
•
Always be very careful when removing
paint. Flaking paint, residue and fumes
may contain lead, which is poisonous.
•
Old paint can be lead-based. Contact an
expert if you suspect that the paint is
lead-based. Lead-based paint should only
be removed by professional personnel and
should not be removed with a hot air gun.
The removal of such paint can result in
swallowing or inhalation of lead. Exposure
to lead, even in low concentrations, can
cause irreversible damage to the nervous
system. Young children and foetuses are
especially sensitive.
•
Avoid eating, drinking or smoking in the
work area.
•
Wear an approved dust filter mask. A face
mask does not provide adequate
protection.
•
Do not scrape off paint with the nozzle,
use a separate paint scraper (sold
separately).
•
Make sure that the paint does not ignite.
This can produce toxic fumes and/or
damage the surface.
•
Make sure that paint does not flake into
the nozzle, this can cause the flakes to
ignite.
•
Do not use the product in damp or wet
areas.
•
Do not use on containers that contain or
have contained flammable liquid or gas, not
even if they are empty – risk of explosion.
•
Make sure there is adequate ventilation to
avoid the accumulation of toxic fumes.
FIRE SAFETY
•
Take appropriate fire safety precautions if
the product is used indoors.
•
Be careful when working near to pipes,
cables, cavities etc. The hot temperature
can risk igniting concealed material.
•
Hold the nozzle at least 25 mm from the
surface to prevent it burning. If the paint
shows signs of burning, move the nozzle
