Slide the upper column onto the shaft and fasten motor flange to
upper column flange.

ASSEMBLY OF INTERMEDIAITE BEARING
Press bushing [3320] into bearing housing [3250].
When a pre-drilled bushing is used, make sure to set correctly the
opening in front of the lubrication hole located in the bearing housing.
Use a bronze drift (OD drift > OD bushing) and check the flange
contact surface is correct.
When a full size bushing is used (not drilled) it will be necessary
to drill the bushing afterwards.

Press the bushing into the bearing housing (bronze bushing or
Graphalloy® bushing)

Drill a 6 mm hole through the bushing using the lubrication hole in
the bearing housing as a drilling guide.

ASSEMBLY OF COLUMNS :

Fit columns using the bearing housing as a centering ring.
Check that bearing housing is correctly positioned according
lubrication pipe.

9.3.11.1
SILICIUM CARBIDE LOW ER BEARING
Silicium carbide bearings have very hard surface but are very
sensitive to shocks. Proceed with care as follows.

Slide silicon carbide bushing [3313] with care in its housing making
sure notches in bushing are facing tapped holes in the housing.

Apply high-strength Thread lock on screws [6570D].

Tighten dog point screws verifying at each time that notches in
bushing [3313] remain aligned with screws.
Gently tighten screws [6570D]. If tightened screws will destroy the
silicon carbide bushing.

Slide back cover [1221] in column [1340A].
-
Fasten back cover on column using screws [6577D].

Gently slide the silicon carbide sleeve [3400] onto the shaft [2100],
the notches are facing shaft threaded end.
-
Press driver key [6734] in the shaft [2100].
-
Slide sleeve driver [2400] onto the shaft [2100].
