Dirty electric heater batteries pose a fire hazard; to prevent this, an air filter should be installed in front of the
unit (see chapter „3�3 Accessories" on page 4)�
The units do not have explosion protection. Reference is made to the relevant explosion protection regulations.
Der The operation of the electric heater battery is only permitted when the fan is switched on; the associated
fan should be switched on beforehand or simultaneously� The power supply to the electric heater battery must
be switched off before or simultaneously with the fan�

Installation
The electric heater battery can be installed horizontally or vertically (provided the air flow is directed upwards; note the
direction of the arrow on the unit). The terminal box can be mounted either on top or on the side (see Fig.2). Installation
with the control box facing downward is not permitted� Installation with downward air flow is not permitted (see
Fig�2)� The safety temperature limiter must be positioned at the top to detect heat flowing upwards in the event of a fault.

The electric heater battery must be installed between the ductwork in the direction of air flow, downstream of the fan
(see Fig.3). When installing in front of the fan, it must be ensured that the conveyed medium temperature at the fan does
not exceed the maximum permissible value (see catalogue or rating plate). A duct section of at least 1.2 m in length must
be installed between the fan and the electric heater battery to ensure optimal air flow.
The inlet and outlet duct sections must be made of at least 0.5 m of non-combustible material. A minimum distance of
1.5 m must be maintained from combustible materials. Ensure proper and secure mounting.
By connecting an electronic temperature control system EHS or EHSD 16, a constant supply air or room temperature
control is possible. Depending on the setpoint and actual value, the EHR-R automatically regulates the power supply
and thus the required heat output up to the maximum heat output. If the safety temperature limiter is triggered, the
control unit must be switched off (via the safety chain created on-site).
The temperature sensor TFK should be installed at a distance from the heating register: Three times the diameter of the
heating register (3xA) (see Fig.3). Example: Heating register diameter 200, resulting in a minimum distance for sensor
installation of 3x200 = 600 mm.
The distance between the filter and the fan must be at least 1 m. The ventilation calming sections must be observed�

Before the electrical connection work or before opening the terminal compartment, the unit must be fully iso-
lated from the power supply and secured against unintended restart! The electrical connection must be fully
isolated from the supply up to the final assembly!
