6. Commissioning
6.1. With the cover on, turn the power on to the unit. The fan will start
running and the screen will ask which language you want to use. Use the
and
buttons to move between options and press when your
desired option is displayed. If no button is pressed, the Language screen
will time out after about a minute. Boost switches might not change the
fan speed whilst the Language screen is showing. If no new settings are
entered, the unit will run at the preset settings.
6.2. The Sentinel Multivent will then go through a brief routine of
displaying whether or not a wireless receiver PCB or a relative humidity
PCB is detected.
6.3. The unit will then display its idle screen. This shows the speed that
the fan is running at, (Low, Normal or Boost), and duty (for example,
50%).
6.4. Press and hold the
and Set buttons for two or three seconds
to unlock the keypad and enter the menu.
6.5. The first screen in the menu allows you to set the Boost speed.
Adjust the setting using the
and
buttons, then press Set to advance
to the next screen. Repeat this for the Normal and Low speeds. Note that
the Normal speed must always be lower than the Boost speed and the
Low speed must always be lower than the Normal speed.
6.6. The screen allows you to select the length of a delay boost timer. (0
minutes = off). The delay boost timer will delay the fan from being
switched to Boost until the LS connection has been live for the time
programmed. This can be useful to prevent the fan from boosting when
the bathroom light has only be switched on for a short period of time
(when someone is only washing their hands and Boost speed is not
required, for example). Press Set to go to the next screen.
6.7. The overrun timer can be adjusted to between 0 and 25 minutes. (0
minutes = off). This timer will keep the fan running at Boost speed for the
set time period after the LS is no longer live (after a switch is turned off). It
will then return to Normal speed.
6.8. When the external CO sensor is connected, the upper and lower 2
thresholds can be adjusted in the menu. It may take up to 40 seconds for
a CO sensor to be recognised. The Boost CO2 Limit is the CO level at 2 2
which the fan will run at Boost speed. The Norm CO2 Limit is the level at
which the fan will run at Normal speed. If the CO level is between these 2
two points, the fan will run at a speed in between Normal and Boost.
6.9. Turning the 1 week dry out feature on will make the Sentinel
Multivent run at boost speed for one week before reverting to normal
operation. This can be useful when the Sentinel Multivent is installed in a
new-build property that is almost complete. The increased ventilation can
help dry out fresh plaster and paint allowing trades to move on quicker.
6.10. Press Set again to exit the menu. The unit will save the settings,
return to the idle screen and lock the keypad.
