maintenance
Also refer to the instructions provided with
the detergent liquid used.
Complete the maintenance by performing
the above steps in reverse order.
Replacing the plate heat exchanger
If it occurs that, after performing the clean-
ing cycle on the heat exchanger, the perfor-
mance levels are unsatisfactory, it may be
necessary to replace the heat exchanger.
Prior to performing this operation, close all
the taps - cold water inlet, hot water outlet,
recirculation (if present), primary circuit
fl ow and return - so as to isolate the mod-
ule.
Connect two rubber hoses to the fi tting of
the cleaning tap on the lower multi-func-
tional unit and to the primary-side drain
fi tting located in the lower section of the
lower multi-functional unit. The hoses
must be suffi ciently long so that they can
be connected to a collection tank.
Turn the three-way valve of the upper and
lower multi-functional unit towards the
right.
Open the drain taps and simultaneously -
to facilitate draining of the heat exchanger
- open the deaeration taps located on the
upper multi-functional unit.
Wait for the heat exchanger to drain com-
pletely.
Loosen the fi xing screws of the seal plate
and the fi xing screws of the heat exchanger
on both the upper and lower multi-func-
tional units.
Gently slide out the upper plate so as to ex-
tract the heat exchanger from the bracket,
by turning it towards the left of the device.
Repeat the sequence in reverse order to
mount the new heat exchanger replacing
the old one.
When replacing the heat exchanger, be
careful of the following:
- Even after draining, small amounts of
hot water may still be found inside the
module and may potentially cause burns.
- The parts subject to maintenance may be
hot and the heat exchanger is heavy, so
handle it with care.
- The O-ring seals between the heat ex-
changer
and
multi-functional
should be replaced together with the
heat exchanger.
- When re-mounting the heat exchanger,
check that the insulation materials are
intact. Replace them if they are dam-
aged.
- When mounting the heat exchanger on
the multi-functional units, make sure
that the latter are aligned.
- Replace any worn components only with
original spare parts supplied by the
manufacturer of the module.
- Dispose of worn materials according to
the regulations in force in the country of
installation of the module.
