Cycling
Cycling on a three-wheel cargo bike takes some getting used to, since the steering motion
is different from a regular bike. The handlebar is fixed to the box and you actually steer
from left to right and vice versa with the box. Always remain quietly seated in an upright
position, even when turning corners. In very sharp turns you can let go of the outside
handlebar to prevent hanging to one side. However, keep this hand close to the brakes in
case you need to brake immediately. Please refer to our website for more information.
Parking Brake
The parking brake is located in the left brake lever. Squeeze the brake lever to engage
the parking brake. Press the metal button/lever and then release the brake lever again.
The lever is now locked and the cargo bike is in the parking brake position.
Adjusting the handlebar
It is possible to adjust the height and angle of the handlebar. Loosen the handlebar stem
and place the handlebar in the desired position. Then tighten the handlebar stem.
Tyre and spoke tension
In order to continue cycling in a comfortable and light way, the tyre pressure should remain
at a normal level. This means a tyre pressure of 3.5-4 bar. The harder the tyres, the more
comfortable and lighter your ride on the Babboe cargo bike.
Regularly check the tension of the spokes. If they are 'loose', have them tightened by
a recognized bicycle shop or a Babboe mechanic.
Lighting
The Babboe Big is equipped with both front and rear battery operated lighting which
can be controlled directly on the lights. The front lights have a flashing setting and a
continuous setting. Always opt for the continuous setting.
