Listening to Cassettes
Tapes can be played back in either deck 1 or deck 2.
Types of tapes which can be played on this unit:
The unit automatically identifies type of tape.
Normal position/TYPE 1
O
High position/TYPE II
0
Metal position/TYPE IV
0
Press [POWER 6/1].
(When using batteries for the power supply)
Q Press [■ TAPE/CD] to select the cassette
mode.
TAPE*—*CD
(The display changes each time the button is pressed.)
Q Press
[A
DECK 1] or
[A
DECK 2], load the tape
and close the lid.
The direction is automatically set to play the top side ("(~>" is
displayed).
Press [REV MODE] on the remote control to
select the mode.

(The display changes each time the button is pressed.)
. ^y Both sides are played.
Q~ZLy. Both sides play repeatedly until [■
TAPE/CD]
is
pressed.
(Both decks play continuously if they are loaded.)
X: One side is played.
Press [◄ ► TAPE].
"FWD" is displayed and play begins. ("REV" is displayed when
play begins while "<3" is displayed.)
[$>: The side which is facing up is played back.
<<3: The reverse side is played back.
Adjust the volume level.
To stop play:
Press [■
TAPE/CD]. •
To stop play from the remote control.
Press [■].
To listen to the other side of the tape:
Press [< ►
TAPE]
during playback.
Pressing
►
TAPE]
automatically turns the unit on, and if a tape
is inserted, begins play (only when AC power is supplied).
The unit cannot be turned on from the remote control when batteries
are being used to power the unit.
Changing the deck
The deck loaded last is automatically selected.
Press [DECK 1/2] to select deck 1 or 2. E
If one deck is selected and an operation is started, any operation on
the other deck ceases.
