Safety instructions for hedge
trimmers
a) Keep all body parts away from
the blade. Do not attempt to re-
move clippings or to hold onto
material to be cut when the
blades are running. Thebladescon-
tinue to move after turning off the switch.

b) Hold the hedge trimmer by the
handgrip when the blade is at
a standstill and make sure you
do not press the switch. Carrying
the hedge trimmer correctly reduces the
riskofinadvertentoperationandbeing
injuredbythebladeasaresult.

er onto the blades while trans-
porting or storing the hedge
trimmer.Careful handling of the
hedgetrimmerreducestheriskofinjury
from the blade.
d) Ensure that all switches are
turned off and the battery is
removed or switched off before
removing jammed clippings or
maintaining the machine. Unex-
pectedoperationofthehedgetrimmer
whenremovingjammedmaterialcan
leadtoseriousinjuries.
e) Hold the hedge trimmer only by
the insulated gripping surfaces
as the cutting blades may come
into contact with hidden wiring.
The blades coming into contact with a
live wire can also cause a charge in
metalpartsoftheapplianceandresult
in an electric shock.
f) Keep all mains cables and lines
away from the cutting range.
Cables and lines may be concealed in
hedgesandbushesandbeinadvert-

ently cut by the blade.
g) Do not use the hedge trimmer in
bad weather, especially if there
is a danger of a storm. Thisreduc-
es the risk of being struck by lightning.

bust trousers, gloves, safety goggles

Donotwearlongclothingorjewel-
lery,asitcanbecomejammedin
themovingparts.Neverusethedeviceba-
refootedorwearingopensandals.
