Mounting/dismounting the bicycles
Caution
The towbar cycle rack is designed for the transportation of
bicycles only.
Only bicycles with a max. weight of 66 lbs (30 kg) may be
transported on the cycle rack.
The maximum allowable load capacity of the bicycle rack,
the tow bar load of the trailer hitch, the allowable total
vehicle weight and the maximum allowable vehicle axle
load (see vehicle owner's manual) must not be exceeded.
If this is not done, the cycle rack may become loose, together
with the bicycles mounted on it, thereby injuring other persons
and/or causing an accident.
Caution
The bicycles must be secured as uniformly as possible on
the cycle rack with a low centre of gravity and be prevented
from falling down by means of one holder for each bicycle
frame and using tensioning straps on the front and rear wheels.
If they are not, the bicycles may become loose during driving,
thereby causing accidents to other road users as well as the
associated injuries and damage to property.
Prior to mounting, remove all child seats and any loose parts
such as drink bottles, saddle bags, batteries from E-bikes etc.,
from the bicycles and stow them away safely.
Caution
Injuries may be caused by the bicycles slipping down/toppling
over. Lock the bicycles to prevent them slipping down/toppling
over.
Always mount and remove the bicycles together with another
person.
Caution
Depending on vehicle type, the cycle rack may be positioned
too close to the vehicle's exhaust system. The hot exhaust
pipe and/or hot exhaust fumes may damage the cycle rack
and/or the bicycles. The cycle rack is not suitable for use in
such cases.
For transport of bicycles with carbon parts, contact the manu-
facturer/retailer as to whether these bicycles are suitable for
transport on this cycle rack.
Arrangement of bicycles
Note the arrangement of the bicycles in the direction of travel
(arrow) as shown here.
Note
Mount heavy bicycles close to the vehicle and lightweight
bicycles (such as children's bikes) further towards the rear of
the cycle rack.
Install the first bicycle with the gear ring pointing to the vehicle.
