To direct the outlets in the most suit-
able installation way
(right air input) there is an air/flue gas
splitter kit available.
reduced concentric bend kit
If it is necessary to install Mynute J 24 R.S.I. on existing systems
(replacement of the Ciao N/Mynute ranges), there is a "reduced
concentric bend" kit that allows you to position the boiler with the
same flue gas hole.

POSSIBLE OUTLET CONFIGURATIONS (fig. 13)
C12
Concentric wall outlet. Pipes can leave the boiler independently,
but the outputs must be concentric or near enough in order to be
subjected to similar wind conditions (within 50 cm).
C22
Concentric outlet in regular smoke pipe (suction and outlet in the
same pipe).
C32
Concentric roof outlet. Output as C12.
C42
Outlet and suction line in regular separate smoke pipes, but
subjected to similar wind conditions.
C52
Separate wall or roof outlet and suction line and in areas with
different pressures. Outlet and suction line must never be placed
on opposite walls.
C62
Outlet and suction line carried out with pipes marketed and certified
separately (1856/1).
C82
Outlet in single or regular smoke pipe and wall suction line.
3.6 Filling the heating system (fig. 14)
Once the hydraulic connections have been carried out, fill the heating system.
This operation must be carried out with cold system following this instructions:
- turn by two or three turns the automatic relief valve cap (A)
- make sure the cold water inlet tap is open
- turn on the filling tap (outside the boiler) and wait until the pressure indicated
by the hydrometer/thermo-hydrometer is between 1 and 1.5 bar
Once filling is complete, close the filling tap.
The boiler has an efficient air separator so no manual intervention is needed.
The burner switches on only if the air relief phase is finished.
3.7 Emptying the heating system
To empty the system, proceed as follow:
- switch off the boiler
- loose the boiler outlet tap (C)
- empty the lowest points of the system.
WARNING
When carrying out the discharge of the safety valve (D), it must be connected
to a suitable collection system. The manufacturer is not responsible for possible
damages due to safety valve operation.

4 IGNITION AND OPERATION

4.1 Preliminary checks

First ignition is carried out by competent personnel from an authorised
Technical Assistance Service Beretta.
Before starting up the boiler, check:
a)
that the supply networks data (electric, water, gas) corresponds to the label
data

b)
that piping leaving the boiler is covered by thermal insulation sheath
c)
that flue gas extraction and air suction pipes work correctly
d)
that conditions for regular maintenance are guaranteed if the boiler is placed
inside or between furniture
e)
the seal of the fuel adduction system
f)
that fuel capacity corresponds to values requested by the boiler
g)
that the fuel supply system has the correct capacity for the necessary capacity
to the boiler and that it has all the safety and control devices prescribed by
current regulations.
4.2 Appliance ignition
To start-up the boiler it is necessary to carry out the following operations:
- power the boiler
- open the gas tap present in the system to allow fuel flow
- turn the mode selector (2 - fig. 1a) to the desired position:
Summer mode - only active when the external storage tank is connected:
turning the selector to the summer symbol "
tion (domestic hot water only) is activated, and the boiler supplies water at the
temperature set on the external storage tank. If there is a domestic hot water
request, the boiler switches on and the boiler status indicator LED (1) lights up
with a fixed green light. The digital monitor (4) indicates the domestic hot water
temperature (fig.4a).
winter mode: turning the function selector within the area divided into seg-
ments (fig. 2b), the boiler produces hot water for heating and - if connected to
an external storage tank - domestic hot water. If there is a heat request, the
boiler switches on and the boiler status indicator LED (1) lights up with a fixed
green light. The digital monitor (4) indicates the heating water temperature
(fig. 3a). If there is a domestic hot water request, the boiler switches on and
the boiler status indicator LED (1) lights up with a fixed green light. The digital
monitor (4) indicates the domestic hot water temperature (fig. 4a).
90°
Adjustment of the heating water temperature
Adjust the ambient thermostat to the required temperature (~20 °C)
1.5
To adjust the heating water temperature, turn the knob with symbol "
to the area divided in segments.
Adjustment of domestic hot water temperature
To adjust the domestic hot water temperature (bathrooms, shower, kitchen, etc.),
set the chosen temperature on the external storage tank thermostat: with every
heat request from the storage tank thermostat, the boiler supplies hot water for
preparing domestic water. On the control panel, the green LED (1 - fig.1a) flashes
with a frequency of 0.5 seconds on, 3.5 seconds off. The boiler is standby status
until, after a heat request, the burner switches on and the indicator LED turns
fixed green to indicate flame presence. The boiler continues to function until the
temperatures set on the storage tank are reached, or the heat request terminates;
it will then go back to standby. If the red indicator light near the "
the command panel lights up, this means the boiler is in temporary stop status
(see the chapter about light signals and faults). The digital monitor indicates the
fault code detected (fig. 7a).
4.3 Switching off
Temporary switching off
In case of absence for short periods of time, set the mode selector (2 - fig. 1a)
to "
" (OFF).
Anti-frost device remains active.
Long period switching off
In case of absence for long periods of time, set the mode selector (2 - fig. 1a)
to "
" (OFF).
Then, close the gas tap present on the system. In this case, anti-frost device is
deactivated: empty the systems, in case of risk of frost.
4.4 Light signals and faults
The control panel has two led that indicate the boiler operating status:
Green led
Flashing
- Flashing with frequency 0.5 second on - 3.5 seconds off = boiler in standby,
there is no flame.
- Flashing with frequency 0.5 second on - 0.5 second off = temporary stop of the
appliance due to the following self-restoring faults:
- water pressure switch (standby time 10 minutes approximately)
- differential air pressure switch (standby time 10 minutes approximately)
- transitory waiting for ignition.
In this phase, the boiler waits for restoration of working conditions. If after standby
time, the boiler will not restore regular operation, stop will be permanent and light
signalling will be red.
- Fast flashing (frequency 0.1 sec. on; 0.1 sec. off; duration 0.5) S.A.R.A. input/
output function (Italian acronym for Environment Automatic Adjustment System)
- Fig. 8a.
By setting the heating water temperature selector to the area marked by AUTO
- temperature value from 55 to 65 °C - the S.A.R.A. self-adjusting system is
activated: the boiler varies the delivery temperature according to the closing
signal of the ambient thermostat. When the temperature set with the heating
water temperature selector is reached, a 20 minutes count begins. If during
this period the ambient thermostat still requests heat, the value of the set
temperature automatically increases by 5 °C.
