1.4 Water connection

The assembly, connection and operation instructions for the tank
must be strictly observed. If the connection is a pressure resist-
ant connection, an approved diaphragm safety valve or a dia-
phragm safety valve combination must be provided; if the con-
nection is pressureless, a return and isolating valve and
functional fittings for pressureless connections must be provided.

1.5 Commissioning

The container must be filled with water prior to electrical switch-
on. The device must be monitored when it heats up for the first
time. During the heating-up process, the expansion water inside
the cylinder must flow out of the safety valve (with a pressure-re-
sistant connection) and drip out of the overflow mixer tap. The
automatic switch off of the thermo controller must be controlled.
In case of repair, only use original spare parts!
1.6 Operation and maintenance
information
Depending on the lime content of the water and the operating
conditions, it may be necessary to periodically clean the radiators
to remove limescale. If the degree of hardness of the water is
>7 °dH, regular maintenance is necessary or suitable measures
to reduce the lime content of the water should be taken.
1)
The heater switches off at a water temperature of
approx. 60°C. The switching differential is approx. 10°C, i.e.
the heater will automatically switch on again at approx. 50°C
(in the heater area).
2)
If a fault should occur during operation, the sales service
should be notified or an electrician should be notified after
appropriate consultation.
You are not permitted to eliminate faults yourself.
Warranty exemptions
Unintended use
Normal wear of parts (e.g. contacts)
Breaking of plastic parts
Deviations from the standard that do not reduce the value or
efficiency
Transport damage due to outside influences
Mechanical damage, damage resulting from the effects of
frost and damage caused when the operating pressure
given on the power rating plate is exceeded
Damage caused by dry operation
Damage resulting from lime scaling
Damage caused by chemical or electrochemical influences
or corrosive liquids
Damage caused by incorrect voltage, lightening, overvolt-
age and improper installation
Damage resulting from the infiltration of foreign particles or
electromechanical influences
Damage as a result of not replacing the protection anode of
the domestic hot water cylinder at the right time
Any unauthorised interference
1.7 Installation in the buffer tank of
the LIK 8TES air-to-water heat
pump
In addition to the applicable VDE standards and regulations and
the DVGW regulations, the connection conditions of the local
power and water supply companies must be observed. The elec-
trical connection must only be carried out by an electrical engi-
neering specialist.
1)
Remove the side panels on the heat pump cover to access
the integrated buffer tank. A 1.5 kW heating element is in-
stalled in this buffer tank as standard
(see Fig. 1.3 on page 3).
Fig. 1.2:
Series standard
2)
Disconnect the integrated heating element from the power
supply and the voltage source. Then empty the buffer tank
and remove the heating element.
3)
Loosen the heat circulating pump (do not remove) and twist
90 ° to the left (towards the rear) to enable the installation of
the CEHK. Next re-tighten the cap nuts on the pump.
4)
Install the CEHK screw-in heater. When threading the
heater through the sleeve, press the heating pipes together
slightly with your hand (see Fig. 1.4 on page 4).
