FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
VARIANT
Manual control
Pneumatic remote control
FITTING CONDITIONS
Use the table below to check load compatibility (calculation method: refer to catalogue).
Ensure that the tow bar is able to bear the required loads.
Also ensure that the eye and its mounting system are non-rotating.
CATEGORY
Fitting the coupling :
-
Remove the rear part of the coupling as far as the bearing (no. 12, 16, 15, 14, 13).
Assemble the bearing (no. 13) inside the tow bar as per the hole diagram on page 3 (Fig. 2) using the screws supplied.
-
Pre-tighten the screws to 15 m. daN in the order of the specified numbers (Fig. 2).
-
-
Then tighten them to the specified torque using a torque wrench.
-
Confirm tightening torque verification with a personal ID stamp.
Refit the shock absorber (no. 14) + the nut (no. 15) (pay attention to the direction).
-
-
Tighten the rear nut on the coupling (no. 15) to a torque of 40 m. daN ± 2.5.
-
Fit the pin (no. 12) and space the arms (pins to be changed each time the coupling is removed).
Fit the cap (no. 16).
-
There must not be any truck components on the rear plane of the tow bar (risk of interference with the eye and drawbar following
90° rotation of the trailer).
After fitting the coupling, depending on the product variant, establish the pneumatic connections.
The pneumatic supply must be provided via the service tank in accordance with the diagram on page 4 (Fig. 3) with an isolation
valve (not supplied).
Lubricate the eye using a grease that is able to withstand -20 °C.
If a remote control unit is used, it must be placed on the lateral side, outside the range of movement of the trailer drawbar and
protected from projections.
PAINTING
When applying a coat of paint, the coupling pin must be in the closed position.
Elsewhere, the pin and the nameplate must be masked prior to painting.
MAINTENANCE
– After use on the road, check the following:
Check the tightening torque after 1,000 km and 2,000 km. If necessary, re-tighten to the specified torque, while always adhering to the
-
specified order.
-
As part of the truck's routine servicing, periodically check the tightening torque of screws. Check the condition of the coupling, clean
the clevis and the pin and remove old grease.
Check the pin diameter; min. permitted Ø after wear: 46.5 mm.
-
– Replace the screws (class 12.9) and the rear pin (no. 12) if the coupling is removed.
