Various dust created by power
sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and other con-
struction activities contains chemicals known (to
the State of California) to cause cancer, birth de-
fects or other reproductive harm. Some examples
of these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paints,
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other
masonry products,
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated
lumber.
The risk from these exposures varies, depending on
how often you do this type of work.

The HL 850 E planer together with the available
Festool accessories is designed for processing wood,
soft plastics and similar materials.
Usage permitted only with planer heads designed
for maximum speed of 15000 min
The supply voltage must comply with the voltage
given on the ratings plate.
For your safety the machine is equipped with an
interlocking safety (1.1). In order to run the planer
the safety must be activated first. Pressing the safety
activates On/Off switch (1.2).

Extension cable

If an extension cable is required, it must have a suf-
ficient cross-section so as to prevent an excessive
drop in voltage or overheating. An excessive drop in
voltage reduces the output and can lead to failure of
