NOTE: This exhaust manifold clamp repair is made for the rearmost cylinder stud
on the driver's side or the frontmost bolt on the passenger side. These instructions
show installation on the driver's side rear, but the passenger side front installation
is similar.
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1:
Allow engine to cool.
STEP 2:
STEP 3:
Verify that remaining portion of broken manifold bolt is not protruding past exhaust manifold
surface. Grind flush if necessary.
STEP 4:
Attach bracket to rear of cylinder head by using unused factory holes on rear of head. Apply
high temperature thread locking compound to threads before installation. Tighten clamp to
head mounting bolts to a torque of 30-37 ft-lb (40-50 Nm).

Reinstall heat shield and test drive vehicle. Check for any exhaust leaks. Tighten clamping bolt
further if needed.

If equipped, remove firewall-mounted
heat shield.
Apply high temperature thread locking
compound to threads on clamping bolt and
tighten to 17-24 ft-lb (23-33 Nm). Tighten only
until the exhaust seals up.
