Operation
WARNING!
To reduce the risk of injury, always check the work area for
hidden wires before coring.
Using the Residual Current Device (E13)
Always test the Residual Current Device before using the Coring Motor
as follows:
NOTE: Turn OFF tool mains switch before resetting Residual Current
Device.
1.
Connect the motor to a power source. Press the Residual Current
Device green "ON" button. The red light should glow.
2.
Press the black "OFF" button. The red light should stop glowing.
3.
If the Residual Current Device does not trip or if it switches OFF
repeatedly whenever Coring Motor is switched ON, the entire combi-
nation must be checked. Any further use or operation is not permitted
under such circumstances.
4.
Start the Coring Motor. Make sure the Residual Current Device red
light glows and that the Coring Motor works properly.
If you cannot switch on or activate the residual current device, then:
Try plugging the tool into another mains socket.
Check for correct functioning of mains socket.
Have mains socket checked by an electrician.
Supply an adequate water flow
An adequate supply of water must flow freely and constantly during the
entire cut. Coring Motors are equipped with a built-in water passage to
allow water to flow down the inside and up around the outside of the bit.
This acts to cool the bit and flush cuttings from the hole.
Starting and stopping the Coring Motor
To start the Coring Motor flip rocker switch (F15) to "ON" or "I".
To stop the Coring Motor flip rocker switch (F15) to "OFF" or "O".
Circuit Breaker
The circuit breaker will trip if the Coring Motor is overloaded. To reset
the circuit breaker, flip the rocker switch (F15) to "OFF" and press circuit
breaker button (F16).
Selecting speed
Coring Motors operate in either high or low speed. Use low speed for
large diameter bits and high speed for small diameter bits (see Coring
Motor Specifications).
The gear shift lever (A4) on the Coring Motor is labeled:
for low speed
1
for high speed

WARNING!
To reduce the risk of injury, ALWAYS wear safety goggles or
glasses with side shields.
1.
Select a bit following guidelines in the specifications chart and install.
2.
With the motor OFF, adjust the shift lever to either low speed or high
speed following guidelines in the specifications chart. DO NOT SHIFT
SPEEDS WHEN THE CORING MOTOR IS ON.
3.
Connect the water hose to the water shut-off valve assembly. Make
sure the connections do not leak. Set up a water collection system.
4.
Turn the Coring Motor ON. Turn the water on so it flows freely through
the water shut-off valve. Turn the valve clockwise to increase water
flow and counterclockwise to decrease water flow.
5.
When the cut is complete, pull the bit out of the hole with the motor
running. Once the bit is removed from the hole, turn the motor OFF.

Maintenance
Lubricating the Spindle For Shear Pin Models
Before each use, clean and lubricate the spindle or spindle sleeve with
grease to prevent the spindle from locking during coring.
Cleaning
Remove dust and debris from vents. Keep the tool clean, dry and free of
oil or grease. Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean your tool
since certain cleaning agents and solvents are harmful to plastics and
other insulated parts.
Repairs
Use only identical MILWAUKEE replacement parts. Always take the tool
to an authorized MILWAUKEE service center for repairs and mainte-
nance.
