locked "ON". Before insert-
ing the battery pack, check that the switch is in
the "OFF" position. Accidental start-ups could
cause injury.
Be aware of the location
and setting of the switch
"Lock-ON" button. If the switch is locked "ON"
during the use, be ready for emergency situa-
tions to switch it "OFF".
Do
"Lock-ON" feature in situa-
tions where kickback is likely, such as when
working into a corner. When the wheel binds,
the tool will kick-back in opposite direction of
wheel rotation and the release of the trigger
"Lock-ON" may be difficult.
Hold the tool with both
hands while starting the
tool. Torque from the motor can cause the tool
to twist.
Start the tool before applying to work and let
the tool come to full speed before contact-
ing the workpiece. Lift the tool from the work
before releasing the switch. DO NOT turn the
switch "ON" and "OFF" while the tool is under
load; this will greatly decrease the switch life.
Slide Switch with LockON
To Turn the Tool ON
(Fig. 16)
Slide the Slide Switch 2 forward towards the
Gear Housing 33 until it comes to a stop and
the motor starts running
For Lock-ON, when the Slide Switch 2 is in the
ON position, press the front of the Slide Switch
2 , and release it. The Slide Switch 2 should
remain in the Lock-ON position, and the tool
will continue to run.
To Turn the Tool OFF
(Fig. 16)
Press the rear portion of the Slide Switch 2
The Slide Switch 2 is spring loaded and will
return to the OFF position automatically.

Paddle Switch
(Fig. 17)
The Paddle Switch 3 has a Lock-OFF feature to
help prevent accidental startups.
To Turn the Tool ON
(Fig. 17)
Push the Lock-Off Switch Release Lever 4 for-
ward to unlock the Paddle Switch 3, then
squeeze the Paddle Switch 3
To Turn the Tool OFF
(Fig. 17)
Release pressure on the Paddle Switch 3
The Paddle Switch 3 is spring loaded and will
return to the OFF position automatically.
