Avoid fitting the unit in a corner where the ceiling meets two walls. The higher you mount the detector, the longer the
detection range will become and vice versa. Take the wide-angle lens as an example:
• Mounting height 2m (6.6ft) :
- the detection angle in the first zone is 110 degrees. From 5 through 1, the respective detection ranges will be
± 12, 10, 8, 7 and 5m (39.4, 32.8, 26.2, 23 and 16.4ft).
- the detection angle in the second zone is 180 degrees. From 5 through 1, the respective detection ranges will
be ± 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1m (16.4, 13.1, 9.8, 6.6 and 3.3ft).
• Mounting height 1.8m (5.9ft) :
- the detection angle in the first zone is 110°. From 5 through 1, the respective detection ranges will be ± 11, 9,
7, 5 and 3m (36.1, 29.5, 23, 16.4 and 9.8ft).
- the detection angle in the second zone is 180 degrees . From 5 through 1, the respective detection ranges will
be ± 4, 3, 2, 1 and 0m (13.1, 9.8, 6.6, 3.3 and 0ft).
Select your detection range, slide the PCB into position and tighten the screw. Close the housing and screw it shut.
The installation has now been completed (fig. 5)
Remarks: using the curtain-type lens
1. When this lens is fitted, the device only uses the one-pulse count system
2. Turn the upper part of the housing 90° in a clockwise motion and then tighten the screw to fix the two halves.
3. The mirror can be removed or left in place :
• curtain "A": the mirror is removed. Instead of the mirror, a rubber ring is placed over the detector.
• curtain "B": the mirror is left in place.
4. Test
1. Before the actual test, you should verify whether the JUMPER is mounted on both pins of P1 ; the LED will light if
this is the case. The LED will not light if the JUMPER is mounted on only one pin of P1 (fig. 2 p. 2)
2. Before the actual test, you should mount the JUMPER on only one pin of P2 under a 45° angle (fig. 2 p. 2) in
order to activate the one-pulse counting mode. The two-pulse counting mode is activated if you mount the
JUMPER on both pins of P2.
3. Connect the wire with the main unit or a battery.
4. Activate your HAA53 and wait a minute until the PIR sensor has warmed up.
The device accepts multiple working voltages, viz. from 9V to 16V DC.
5. One-pulse count mode: the detection LED is lit at max. intensity as soon as the device is triggered.
6. Two-pulse count mode: the detection LED will only burn dimly when the first movement is detected. It takes a
second movement to make the LED burn at full intensity.
