25. Troubleshooting

Possible Problem
The wood does not light or lights only slowly.
The wood burns without a bright, yellow fl ame, smoulders, or even goes out.
Too much soot is produced; the heat-resisting slabs do not
stay clean and free of soot during operation.
The fi re box window becomes sooty.
The wood burns too quickly.
Smoke escapes into the room while the stove is in operation.
The chimney becomes wet and coated with creosote, condensate leaks out of the stove pipe.
Although the fi re burns well, the stove does not get warm.
Smoke escapes when the fi re box door is opened.
- The wood is too thick. / The wood is too damp.
- The air supply is inadequate.

- The chimney cross section is too wide.

- The air sliders are not in the correct position.

- The fi re is still burning too strongly.
