Bevel cutting
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the tool is
s itched o and the battery cartridge is removed
before tilting the base.
With the base tilted, you can make bevel cuts at any
angle between
and 5 (left or right).

To tilt the base, loosen the bolt on the bottom of the base
with the hex wrench. Move the base so that the bolt is
positioned in the center of the bevel slot in the base.

Tilt the base until the desired bevel angle is obtained. The
V-notch of the gear housing indicates the bevel angle by
graduations. Then tighten the bolt firmly to secure the base.

Front ush cuts
Loosen the bolt on the bottom of the base with the
hex wrench and slide the base all the way back. Then
tighten the bolt to secure the base.

Cutouts
Cutouts can be made with either of two methods:
Boring a starting hole or Plunge cutting .
Boring a starting hole
F o r i n t e r n a l c u t o u t s w i t h o u t a l e a d - i n c u t f r o m

Insert the jig saw blade into this hole to start your cut.

Plunge cutting
You need not bore a starting hole or make a lead-in cut
i f y o u c a r e f u l l y d o a s f o l l o w s .

Tilt the tool up on the front edge of the base with the jig
saw blade point positioned just above the workpiece surface.
2.
A p p l y p r e s s u r e t o t h e t o o l s o t h a t t h e f r o n t e d g e o f
the base will not move when you switch on the tool and
gently lower the back end of the tool slowly.
3.
As the jig saw blade pierces the workpiece, slowly
lower the base of the tool down onto the workpiece surface.
4.
C o m p l e t e t h e c u t i n t h e n o r m a l m a n n e r .
Finishing edges
To trim edges or make dimensional adjustments, run the
jig saw blade lightly along the cut edges.

Metal cutting
Always use a suitable coolant (cutting oil) when cutting metal.
Failure to do so will cause significant jig saw blade wear. The under-
side of the workpiece can be greased instead of using a coolant.

Circular cuts
When cutting circles or arcs of 1

CAUTION:
Do not touch the tip of the circular
guide pin. T h e s h a r p t i p o f t h e c i r c u l a r g u i d e p i n c a n
cause injury.

I n s e r t t h e r i p f e n c e i n t o t h e r e c t a n g u l a r h o l e o n t h e
side of the base with the fence guide facing up.
2.
I n s e r t t h e c i r c u l a r g u i d e p i n t h r o u g h e i t h e r o f t h e
two holes on the fence guide. Screw the threaded knob
o n t o t h e c i r c u l a r g u i d e p i n t o s e c u r e t h e c i r c u l a r g u i d e
p i n .

Guide rail adapter set
Optional accessory

a d a p t e r w i l l a s s u r e t h e p r o d u c t i o n o f f a s t a n d c l e a n
c u t s . T o i n s t a l l t h e g u i d e r a i l a d a p t e r , i n s e r t t h e r u l e
bar into the square hole of the base as far as it goes.
Secure the bolt with the hex wrench securely.

Insert the rule bar into the square hole of the guide rail
adapter, and secure the screw firmly. Place the guide
r a i l a d a p t e r o n t h e g u i d e r a i l .

NOTICE:
Always use jig saw blades No. B-8, B-1 ,
B-1 , B-1 or 58 when using the guide rail and the
