Refer to the Quick Start Guide for installation instructions (see section 18)
8.2 Battery Charging
Warning
Caution
The AirFold Powerchair's batteries should be fully charged (approximately 5-8 hours) before its initial use. This
initial charge will allow the battery to perform at about 90% of its optimal performance. Following the initial use, it
is recommended to perform another 5-8 hour charge to improve the battery's performance. After the first few uses
and charges of the battery, it should be operating at optimal performance and will extend the lifespan of the battery.
Repeat this process when the battery is replaced.
Ensure the powerchair is switched off and is in 'Electric' mode prior to connecting the charger (see figure 1).
The battery can be charged on-board (when the battery is installed on the powerchair) or off-board (when the battery
is removed).
To charge while the battery is removed, connect the 3-pin output to the socket on the battery.
Connect the outlet plug into a nearby standard wall socket. To charge while the battery is
attached, connect the 3-pin output of the battery charger into the socket on the underside front
of the controller.
The LED on the charger will appear blue while charging. When charging is complete, the LED
will change to green. It is recommended to charge for 5-8 hours on each charge. After charging
is complete, remove the charger from the powerchair/battery and the plug from the wall socket.
