When the PWM signal is switched off, the pump is in stand-by mode .
this ensures that the system does not overheat, even if the controller is defective
or the connection cable is broken .
as the PWM signal rises, so does the speed of the pump .
the following characteristic shows how the pump reacts to the various PWM signal
levels . to prevent the system from cycling, the characteristic has a hysteresis in
zone B .
