The integrity of the power ground for equipment is important for both safety and
dependable operation of the terminal and its associated scale base. A poor ground can
result in an unsafe condition if an electrical short develops in the equipment. A good
ground connection is needed to minimize extraneous electrical noise pulses. The
terminal should not share power lines with noise-generating equipment. To confirm
ground integrity, use a commercial branch circuit analyzer like an ICE model SureTest
ST-1D. If adverse power conditions exist, a dedicated power circuit or power line
conditioner may be required.
The harsh environment PANTHER and PANTHER PLUS terminals are both shipped with
the power cord installed at the factory. Before applying power, confirm that the power
cord is wired properly for the AC voltage where the terminal will be used. The power cord
connects to the TB1 terminal strip on the controller PCB.
