General safety instructions

Despite observing and complying with all regulations and provisions there may be residual hazards when
handling technical devices. The same are emphasised particularly in the individual chapters.

Directives and provisions

Please observe the following ordinance to use your industrial truck as intended and properly.
Furthermore, the corresponding national provisions, regulations, and laws have to be observed.

Genuine parts and accessories

Please use genuine HanseLifter® parts for your HanseLifter® platform floor truck only. Installing spare parts
and accessories of other manufacturers is not checked and approved by us and, thus, may have adverse
effects on the properties of the device. The manufacturer shall not assume any liability for damages resulting
from the installation of non-genuine parts and accessories. Furthermore, the warranty will forfeit if spare parts or
accessories are installed in an unauthorised manner by third parties.

Safety instructions consumables

Hydraulic oil

Avoid any skin contact.
•
Avoid any eye contact.
•
Do not inhale oil mist.
•
Always transport the oils in designated containers. Never let the oils flow into the groundwater or waste
water.
•
Dispose of old oils and oil-containing waste in accordance with the provisions.
Please wear protective clothing when coming into contact with oils, such as for example protective gloves,
goggles, and apron.

Personal protective equipment

When using the platform floor truck, please always wear the specified protective equipment. Please observe
additional safety regulations of your company, if applicable.

General description

The high-lift trucks of the SDJ series are hydraulically/manually operated platform floor trucks to transport
goods.
The load is lifted by means of a hydraulic pump, at which the pump is operated manually using the drawbar or
via the foot pedal. On the basis of the high transmission ratio of the lever arm of the drawbar and the hydraulic
pump, it is possible to lift heavy loads with relatively low exertion of force.
The load is transported only by pulling or pushing at the drawbar. You can only decelerate the platform floor
truck by pure muscle force. The foot brake is only intended to prevent the platform floor truck from rolling when
stationary.
