MICROPHONE and LINE INPUTS
The MM6 features both balanced microphone and unbalanced line inputs on all channels.
The standard XLR type microphone inputs are electronically balanced for maximum noise sup-
pression and have characteristics matching professional low impedance dynamic microphones
such as the Shure SM58. Channel 5 and 6 have dual RCA jacks for the unbalanced input, all
others have standard 1/4 inch phone jacks. The RCA jacks will work with line level devices
such as tape recorders or a compact disk player.
A turntable cannot be used in the RCA jacks without a preamplifier. The 1/4 inch phone
jacks accept single ended signals from high impedance microphones, guitars, synthesizers,
electric pianos, tape recorders, and the like. Use either the unbalanced or the balanced input
on any one channel, but not both. Connecting to both inputs on one channel will cause
improper operation of the input circuit (using both RCA jacks is OK).
CHANNEL LEVEL CONTROLS
Each channel has a CHANNEL LEVEL control which adjusts the level of the signal in that
channel over a range of 40 dB. This adjustment also determines the overall mix. (The MM6
does not need a separate fader to accomplish this). The MM6 does not have clip LEDs on each
channel. The clip LED indicates clipping on one of the input channels or clipping of the power
amplifier. Operating the mixer with the master level at 7 or more will ensure that the inputs do
not clip before the power amplifier.

CHANNEL EQUALIZATION

The MM6 HI EQ and LO EQ controls, independently adjust the treble and bass frequencies for
each channel. They provide just over 15 dB of boost and 15 dB of cut. The affected frequen-
cies have been carefully selected to give the right feel when making adjustments. The HI and
LO controls provide versatile equalization and are consistent with the clean simplicity of the
MM6's design. Bear in mind that boosting either or both EQs increases the signal level. This
may cause clipping, in which case the CLIP LED will light. Adjustment of the CHANNEL
LEVEL control will correct this.
